Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement Lead

PBS (Ponticelli UK) are looking for Operational Excellence and Continuous Improvement Lead, reporting to Maintenance & Operational Excellence Manager.

 

Activities:

  • Maintenance Systems (CMMS) optimisation.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive operational excellence and continuous improvement framework, aligned with the company’s strategic goals and objectives.
  • Lead and facilitate operations, maintenance, and SMC teams in identifying and analysing process inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement.
  • Conduct process assessments and gap analyses to identify opportunities for cost reduction, increased efficiency, and enhanced performance.
  • Facilitate the development and implementation of process improvement plans, including defining key performance indicators (KPIs) and establishing targets.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders at all levels to ensure buy-in and commitment to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Provide training and guidance to employees on lean methodologies, problem-solving techniques, and process improvement tools.
  • Monitor and track progress of improvement initiatives and provide regular updates to management on key metrics and achievements.
  • Lead and support the implementation of process automation and digitalization initiatives to drive efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Stay abreast of industry best practices, emerging trends, and new technologies related to operational excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Support and enforce the PBS Safety Culture Program and HSE Project objectives and directives.
  • Lead maintenance system reviews and improvements.
  • Identification and resolution of operational ‘bad actors’.
  • Optimisation of SMCs technical.
  • Maintenance execution optimisation.

 

Accountabilities:

Overall:

  • Ensuring high operational performance as per the Contractual Key Performance Indicators for the assets, with a focus on continual improvements across systems, planning and execution.
  • Set the same expectations for our technical SMC and drive delivery performance internally and externally.
  • Work closely with SMC technical engineers on optimisation & efficiencies of work programme in CMMS.
  • Provide support for GMOC Commercial/Contracts team on best delivery of portfolio of novated and non-novated vendors.

 

HSE:

  • Improve HSE performance to achieve 0 LTI, =<1 HIPO, reduced CO2 eq emission.
  • Support and enforce the PBS Safety Culture Program and HSE Project objectives and directives.
  • Provide safety leadership across all contract activities and act as the role model for preferred safety behaviour.
  • Encourage preventive safety action, ensure appropriate investigation of safety event (RCA) are completed and actions are implemented whilst sharing lessons learned across the business.
  • Set / validate HSE action plan end ensure full implementation of the actions decided as required.

 

Reliability & Maintenance Engineering:

  • Ensure application of the optimized maintenance requirements.
  • Identify bad actors and methods for improving them.
  • Deliver RCA on high value or repeat failures, identify, and implement improvements
  • When required, provide advice in optimising maintenance process, in accordance with the CPY minimum maintenance guidelines, and applying LEAN methodology when necessary.
  • Challenge maintenance requirements and apply a continuous improvement methodology throughout the CMMS.
  • Manage MDCR liquidation & track progress to ensure timely close out.

 

Operational Readiness & Assurance:

  • Assess training requirements for new equipment/processes and liaise with Training & Competency to ensure PBS personnel receive adequate training.
  • Ensure all new equipment assigned to assets is correctly represented within the CMMS with a maintenance strategy applied.

 

Contract Management:

  • Manage technical application of contract services, taking a lead role in the involvement/co-ordination of, and interface between, onshore/site/offshore teams/contractors ensuring effective communication and understanding between appropriate parties.
  • Develop positive and constructive relationships with contractors and suppliers. Identify and support SMC team with opportunities to improve contractor/supplier performance, reduce costs and improve the quality of services/products supplied.
  • Support development and reporting of SMC Vendor KPIs to meet asset and contract objectives.
  • Responsible for the performance management of novated contracts working with head of Commercial, who is accountable for novated Contracts.
  • Develop positive and constructive relationship with individual assets to ensure an aligned approach to each assets specific requirements such as late life, COMAH status & high production.
  • Develop strong relationships with chosen asset focal points for supporting improvements and efficiencies in non-novated Contracts.

 

Qualifications/Experience Required:

  • Proven work experience in similar role
  • Level/Diploma: Master’s degree of Engineering
  • Training/Certification: Valid Offshore certification
  • Oil & Gas Operations & Maintenance activities (Mechanical, E&I and AIC) experience
  • Skills in manage teams in difficult environment (Offshore & Onshore)
  • Maintenance systems and process experience within Oil & Gas
  • Decision and autonomous capacities
  • Adaptability & innovation. Capability to encourage, support, implement innovative ways of working
  • Exceptional communication skills, internal or external
