Electrical / Instrument Engineer

PBS (Semco UK) are looking for an Electrical and Instrument Engineer to join the team on a 6 month fixed term basis.

Duties:

  • Provide day-to-day instrument discipline support for allocated projects
  • Provide input to project planning
  • Prepare CTR estimates for new Instrument scopes or changes to existing scopes
  • Report weekly progress updates to project manager & lead engineer
  • Knowledge of field instrumentation and valves
  • Preparation of Instrument engineering deliverables (scopes of work, specifications, datasheets, calculations, etc)
  • Provide Instrument discipline representation at HAZOP & LOPA sessions
  • Coordinating third party vendors and attending factory acceptance tests
  • Coordinate designers in preparation of design deliverables
  • Knowledge of ESD, DCS & metering systems
  • Preform engineering checks on engineering and design deliverables
  • Develop functional safety management plans and associated lifecycle deliverables
  • Work alongside external third party in resolving conformance issues and observations identified in the functional safety assessment reports
  • Carry out construction work pack reviews
  • Provide input too and carry out review of commissioning test procedures
  • Respond and resolve site queries in a timely manner
  • Operate within industry, international and client codes and standards
  • Proactive in supporting and promoting HS&E processes and requirements

Qualifications/Experience required:

  • Degree qualified and member of appropriate institute
  • Strong Instrumentation bias with working knowledge of electrical engineering
